TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE PRO20 TWITTER PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION CONDUCTED BY THE STANDARD BANK OF SOUTH AFRICA LIMITED (“The Promoter”)

1. How to Play
  This promotional competition commences on 21 January 2009 and ends at 12h00 (midday) on 25 February 2009. In order to qualify as an entrant into this promotional competition you must:
1.1 be a registered member of Twitter Inc;
1.2 “tweet” positively on any 2009 Pro20 cricket match by no later than 12h00 (midday) on the 25 of February 2009; and
1.3 send an entry email with the name of the competition, your name and contact details to the following email address Kaboom@standardbank.co.za; (all positive “tweets” will be automatically entered into a lucky draw.)
   
2 Prizes
2.1 There will be a grand prize winner who will receive a 12 (twelve) month subscription to Sports Illustrated magazine.
2.2 There will be five second prize winners who will each receive a 2009 Pro20 Mohawk hard hat autographed by Jonty Rhodes.
3 General
3.1 The Promoter of this promotional competition is The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited ("The Promoter").
3.2 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants and their spouses, life partners, parents, children, siblings, business partners or associates are not eligible to participate in or enter this promotional competition.
3.3 All entrants in the promotional competition must be over 18 (eighteen) years of age and must reside in the Republic of South Africa.  No person under the age of 18 (eighteen) years may buy, sell or in any other way obtain or dispose of the ticket in respect of this promotional competition.
3.4 No entry will be considered to be valid until a validation process has taken place.  Entries are only valid if terms and conditions are agreed to and full details of the entrant have been provided on the entry email.
3.5 The prizes are not intended to be nor may it be sold in any manner.
3.6 The prize winners of this promotional competition shall be chosen by means of a lucky draw on 26 February 2009 to take place at the premises of the Promoter, situated at 5 Simmonds Street, Johannesburg.  All entries must be received by the Promoter on or before 12h00 on 25 February 2009 in order to qualify for the lucky draw. Prize winners will be notified by email or telephonically and their names will be published in publicity releases, the nature and manner of such releases to be determined within the sole discretion of the Promoter.
3.7 The contract arising out of this promotional competition is subject to the terms and conditions set out in these rules found at the Standard Bank Cricket webpage at www.standardbankcricket.com and on the Twitter website at http://twitter.com/pro20.
3.8 Should the winner of the 12 (twelve) month subscription wish to continue his/her subscription for a longer period, same will be at their own expense.
3.9 In the event of a dispute, the decision of The Promoter will be final and binding on all aspects of the promotional competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.10 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from an entrant's participation in the  promotional competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising.
3.11 The Promoter will be entitled to publish the prize winners’ name and photographs in any advertising, print, point of sale or public relations material for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of the selection provided that the prize winners consent in writing to such usage, after having being publicly announced as the winners of the  promotional competition.
3.12 If required by the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Lotteries Board or for whatever other reason, The Promoter shall have the right to terminate the promotional competition with immediate effect and without notice of such termination.  In such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights, which they may have against The Promoter and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants.
3.13 All entrants, by entering the promotional competition, agree to be bound by the promotional competition rules.
3.14 The prizes are not transferable and any prize not taken up for any reason will be the subject of a separate selection and shall be allocated in terms of the promotional competition.
3.15 The prizes will not be exchanged for cash amounts or for any other prize other than the prize offered in terms of clause 2.
3.16 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of similar commercial value.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE PRO20 MXIT PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION CONDUCTED BY THE STANDARD BANK OF SOUTH AFRICA LIMITED (“THE PROMOTER”)

1 How to Play
 

This promotional competition commences on 7 February 2009 and ends at 12h00 (midday) on 11 February 2009. To qualify as an entrant into this promotional competition you must:

1.1 be a South African citizen or permanent resident of the Republic of South Africa;
1.2 be over the age of 18 (eighteen) years;
1.3 hold a valid South African identification document;
1.4 be a registered member of MXit;
  be a subscriber of The Promoter’s MXit contact;
1.5 enter the Pro20 MXit competition which can be found on The Promoter’s MXit contact, by sending the correct answer to the question to 32532 (SMS costs R1), before 12h00 (midday) on 11 February 2009; (only correct answers will be automatically entered into the lucky draw); and
1.6 enter this promotional competition in your personal capacity and not as a business. For example a close corporation, partnership or any other legal entity will not qualify as an entrant
   
2 Prizes
  The prize winner of the lucky draw shall receive:
2.1 2 (two) tickets to the 2009 Pro20 domestic final cricket match on either 20 or 21 February 2009 (“final match”). For the avoidance of doubt the final match could be played on either of the above dates and not on both dates; The venue of the final match has not yet been determined and could be held in any of the following places, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban or Bloemfontein;
2.2 Return air tickets from your South African province of residence to the destination of the final match which could be in any of the following places, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban or Bloemfontein, which destination will only be announced 2 (two) days prior to the final match; Please note that should the prize winner be resident in the province in which the final match is to take place, he/she shall forfeit the return air tickets and The Promoter will be under no obligation to substitute this part of the prize with any other prize of similar commercial value;
2.3 If the prize in clause 2.2 above is applicable, the prize winner shall also receive airport transfers to and from the relevant airport and the hotel set out in 2.4 below;
2.4 2 (two) nights stay in a twin room at a hotel of The Promoter’s choice within walking distance of the venue of the final match; and
2.5 R500.00 per person per day for meals and entertainment; For the avoidance of doubt this amounts to a total of R2000.00 for this part of the prize.
   
3 General
3.1 The Promoter of this promotional competition is The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited ("the Promoter").
3.2 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants and their spouses, life partners, parents, children, siblings, business partners or associates are not eligible to participate in or enter this promotional competition.
3.3 All entrants in this promotional competition must enter in their personal capacity (not as a legal entity) and must reside in the Republic of South Africa
3.4 No entry will be considered to be valid until a validation process has taken place
3.5 The contract arising out of this promotional competition is subject to the terms and conditions set out in these rules found at the Standard Bank Cricket webpage at www.standardbankcricket.com and on MXit, where applicable
3.6 The prizes will only be awarded to the prize winner upon valid and satisfactory proof of identification.
3.7 The prize winner of this promotional competition shall be chosen by means of a lucky draw to be held on Monday, 11 February 2009, after midday, at the premises of the Promoter. The prize winner will be contacted telephonically by The Promoter within 2 (two) days of the lucky draw.
3.8 The prize will be couriered to prize winners within 2 (two) days from the lucky draws. Should the prize winner not be contactable within 2(two) days of the lucky draw, the Promoter reserves the right to instruct MXit to draw another prize winner.
3.9 In the event of a dispute, the decision of The Promoter will be final and binding on all aspects of this promotional competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.10 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from a entrant's participation in this promotional competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising. The prize winner indemnifies the Promoter and holds the Promoter harmless for any loss, damage, harm or injury which the prize winner may sustain as a result of any claim which may be made against it by any third party, whilst participating in this promotional competition.
3.11 The Promoter will be entitled to publish the prize winner’s name and photographs in any advertising, promotional, print, point of sale or public relations material, the nature and manner of such releases to be determined within the sole discretion of the Promoter, for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of the lucky draw provided that the prize winner consents in writing to such usage, after having being publicly announced as prize winner of this promotional competition.
3.12 If required by the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Lotteries Board or for whatever other reason, the Promoter shall have the right to terminate this promotional competition with immediate effect and without notice of such termination.  In such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights, which they may have against the Promoter and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against the Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants.
3.13 All entrants, by entering this promotional competition, agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3.14 The prizes are not transferable and if the prizes are not taken up for any reason it will be the subject of a separate draw and shall be allocated in terms of this promotional competition.
3.15 The prizes will not be changed for any other prize other than the prizes offered in terms of clause 2 above.
3.16 The Promoter is not liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotional competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted. The Promoter is not liable for any delays in the return air tickets offered in clause 2.2 above and/or for any losses suffered by the prize winner and their partner as a result of such delay
3.17 Once the prize winner accepts the prize, the prize winner and their chosen partner accepts the prize at their own risk.
3.18 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar commercial value.

1.4 follow the instructions found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/25007999@N04/ in order to participate in the “Spot the Ball” game, by guessing the correct quadrant into which the virtual cricket ball should be placed; only correct guesses will qualify for entry into the lucky draw; and

2 Prizes

1.2 upload one photograph of yourself conveying the spirit and the atmosphere of Pro20 Cricket at any 2009 Pro20 domestic cricket match held in South Africa, which photograph must include The Promoter’s 2009 Pro20 Mohawk hard hat, onto The Promoter’s cricket Facebook page found at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Standard-Bank-Cricket/54874975049?ref=ts before 12h00 (midday) on 25 February 2009;
1.3 tag yourself in the uploaded photograph;
1.4 send an entry email with the name of the competition, your name and contact details to the following email address Kaboom@standardbank.co.za; and
1.5 be able to transport yourself to and from the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, should you be selected as the winner.
   
2 Prize
2.1 The entrant selected in this competition (hereinafter referred to as “the winner”) will win 2 (two) tickets to watch the Proteas vs. Australia, on Friday 27 March 2009, at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
2.2 The above prize does not include transport to and from the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. 1.3 tag yourself in the uploaded photograph;
1.4 send an entry email with the name of the competition, your name and contact details to the following email address: Kaboom@standardbank.co.za; and
1.5 be able to transport yourself to and from the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, should you be selected as the winner.
   
2 Prize

In the event that the winner does not reside in  Gauteng and is unable to provide The Promoter with confirmation of attendance at the Wanderers Stadium on 30 January 2009, at least 2 (two) days prior to 30 January 2009, the winner automatically forfeits his/her prize and The Promoter reserves the right to select another winner without further notification.

1 How to Play
1.1 This competition commences on 21 January 2009 and ends at 12h00 (midday) on 26 January 2009. In order to qualify as an entrant into this competition you must:
1.2 upload a video not exceeding 1 (one) minute of yourself conveying the spirit and the atmosphere of Pro20 cricket at any 2009 Pro20 domestic cricket match held in South Africa, which video must include The Promoter’s 2009 Pro20 Mohawk hard hat, onto the YouTube website found at http://www.youtube.com/pro20cricket before 12h00 (midday) on 26 January 2009;
1.3 send an entry email with the name of the competition, your name and contact details to the following email address Kaboom@standardbank.co.za; and
1.4 be able to transport yourself to and from the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, should you be selected as the winner.
   
2 Prize

3.9 In the event of a dispute, the decision of The Promoter will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.10 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from an entrant's participation in the  competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising.
3.11 The Promoter will be entitled to publish the winner's name and photographs in any advertising, print, point of sale or public relations material for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of the selection provided that the winner consents in writing to such usage, after having being publicly announced as the winner of the  competition.
3.12 If required by the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Lotteries Board or for whatever other reason, The Promoter shall have the right to terminate the competition with immediate effect and without notice of such termination.  In such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights, which they may have against The Promoter and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants.
3.13 All entrants, by entering the competition, agree to be bound by the competition rules.
3.14 The prize is not transferable and any prize not taken up for any reason will be the subject of a separate selection and shall be allocated in terms of the competition.
3.15 The prize will not be exchanged for cash amounts or for any other prize other than the prize offered in terms of clause 2.
3.16 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of similar commercial value.
